Ingredients:
  • 4 honey pears, peeled
  • 200g brown sugar
  • 20.00 ml instant coffee
  • 4.40 gm Queen essence vanilla essence or extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • Vanilla ice cream, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine pears, sugar, coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, and 3 cups (750ml) of water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil.
  • Lower the heat and gently simmer the pears for 20 minutes, or until they are tender. Allow the pears to cool slightly in the syrup before serving with vanilla ice cream.
