Popcorn with bacon and parmesan

Indulge in savory popcorn with crunchy bacon and rich parmesan for a delicious snack.
Ingredients:
  • 200g streaky bacon, finely chopped
  • 27.60 gm canola oil
  • 125.00 ml popping corn
  • 3.00 gm sea salt
  • 1 x 45g piece Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Begin by heating a large heavy frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the bacon, stirring occasionally as the fat renders, for approximately 5 minutes until it reaches a crispy texture. Next, use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked bacon to a plate lined with paper towels. Then, carefully pour the bacon fat into a small bowl, making sure to leave the brown solids in the pan. Save the bacon fat for later use.
  • Stirring constantly with pot holders, pop the corn kernels in hot oil for about 5 minutes in a covered heavy pot over medium-high heat, until all kernels have popped.
  • 1. In a large bowl, combine popcorn and bacon, drizzle with reserved bacon fat, sprinkle with salt. Grate most of the Parmesan over the top using a Microplane grater, toss to coat well. Top with more cheese and serve hot.
