Lemony poppy seed cookies - utterly delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1.25 cups poppy seeds
  • 1.5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 lemon, juiced
  • 0.66666668653488 cup maple flavored syrup
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare your baking sheet by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a small saucepan, mix cream and poppy seeds. Heat over medium heat until hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Mix in butter, lemon juice, and syrup until well combined. Stir in the cooled poppy seed mixture.
  • Scoop small spoonfuls onto the lined baking sheet.
  • Bake until edges are golden brown, approximately 20 minutes. Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
