Delicious pork and veal burger with coleslaw and spicy tomato sauce - a perfect weeknight dinner!
Ingredients:
  • 1 baguette (French stick)
  • 1 225g pkt coleslaw mix
  • 185ml (3/4 cup) coleslaw dressing (Kraft brand)
  • 300g pork mince
  • 300g veal mince
  • 20g (1/4 cup) mixed grain breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 red onion, chopped
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh continental parsley
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 61.00 gm Worcestershire sauce
  • 36.40 gm olive oil
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 elk horn lettuce or oak lettuce, leaves separated, washed, dried
Instructions:
  • Slice the baguette diagonally into eight 1cm-thick slices. Mix the coleslaw with the dressing in a bowl, then chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
  • Combine pork and veal minces, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, parsley, cayenne pepper, and 1 ½ tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl. Season generously with salt and pepper, then mix thoroughly using your hands. Divide the mixture into 4 portions and shape each into a 6cm-thick patty.
  • In a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat, heat the oil. Cook the patties for 10 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  • Combine the tomato sauce and remaining Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl as you toast the baguette slices.
  • For serving, layer each serving plate with a baguette slice followed by lettuce, coleslaw, a mince patty, and a generous drizzle of the sauce mixture. Enjoy promptly with the extra baguette slice on the side.
