Tender pork chops with flavorful spice rub, cooked in sweet apple-onion sauce. Ideal for fall, delicious anytime!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons rubbed sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 (5 ounce) boneless pork chops, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 medium sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 medium Red Delicious apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup apple juice
  • 1.5 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, sage, garlic, thyme, salt, allspice, and paprika in a small bowl. Set aside a portion for later. Coat pork chops with the remaining spice mixture, ensuring all sides are covered.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear pork chops in olive oil until golden brown on both sides, about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer the pork to a plate.
  • Sauté onion in the skillet until tender for about 3 minutes. Toss in apples and stir for another 2 minutes. Pour in apple juice, brown sugar, and the spice mixture; let it come to a boil.
  • Cover and let the pork simmer on low heat until cooked through and reaches desired doneness, approximately 5 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure it reaches 145°F (63°C) in the center.
