Ingredients:
  • 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 60 mls (1/4 cup) water
  • 14.40 gm honey
  • 4 large mushroom flats, sliced
  • 20.00 gm water
  • 31.50 gm soy sauce
  • 4 (150g each) pork midloin butterfly steaks, trimmed
  • 4.60 gm olive oil
  • 1 bunch Chinese broccoli (gai laan), washed, leaves separated, steamed, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine apples and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat with the lid on. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, occasionally mashing with a wooden spoon for 12-15 minutes until apples are soft. Stir in the honey.
  • Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook mushrooms with water and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce until softened. Remove and keep warm. Brush pork with oil, cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through. Coat pork with remaining soy sauce. Serve with apple sauce, mushrooms, and Chinese broccoli.
