Indulgent Power Brownies made with Greek yogurt and applesauce for a guilt-free twist.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 0.5 cup brewed coffee
  • 0.5 cup applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously coat an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then create a well in the center of the mixture.
  • Mix yogurt, coffee, applesauce, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the flour mixture and gently fold with a spatula until just combined. Spread the batter in the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the center is firm to the touch, for 45 to 55 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly for about 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
