Roasted chestnuts and Brussels sprouts coated in sweet brown sugar and butter for a decadent, quick side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 20 roasted chestnuts, shelled
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed
  • 2 large shallots, thinly sliced
  • sea salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Layer chestnuts and Brussels sprouts in a baking dish as directed in Cook's Notes. Sprinkle shallots evenly over the top, season with salt and black pepper, then add a touch of brown sugar and dot with butter.
  • Roast in the oven, stirring occasionally, until golden and crispy, which should take around 40 minutes.
