Irresistibly crispy pretzel-crusted tenders with a juicy center, paired with homemade honey-mustard sauce for a perfect sweet and salty harmony.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.13 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 2 cups miniature pretzels
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • cooking spray
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, honey, mustard, and garlic powder to create a flavorful dipping sauce. Set aside for later use.
  • Mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Season both sides of the chicken tenders evenly with the spice mixture.
  • Crush pretzels in a food processor until evenly crushed, but not powdery. Place pretzel crumbs in a shallow dish. Whisk egg and water in a separate dish. Place flour in another dish. Set up the dishes in this order: flour, egg mixture, pretzels.
  • Coat each tender lightly in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, allowing any extra to drip off. Finish by coating the chicken in pretzel crumbs and placing on the baking sheet. Give a generous spritz of cooking spray before baking.
  • Bake chicken in preheated oven for 13-15 minutes until no longer pink in the center and juices run clear. Flip tenders halfway through, spray with cooking spray, and ensure internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C) with an instant-read thermometer. Serve with dipping sauce.
