Versatile air-fried chicken tenders can be enjoyed as a crispy appetizer, with a flavorful dip, or as a satisfying main course.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 3.5 ounces salted pretzels, crushed
  • 1.5 pounds chicken tenderloins
  • olive oil cooking spray
Instructions:
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), following manufacturer's guidelines.
  • In a large resealable bag, mix together flour, turmeric, black pepper, and mustard powder. Seal the bag and shake well to evenly combine the dry ingredients.
  • Crush pretzels and spread them on one plate, then line another plate with parchment paper.
  • Dry the chicken tenders and then place them in the seasoned flour. Seal the bag and coat the tenders evenly by tossing them.
  • With one hand dry, coat each tender in the egg, allowing excess to drip off, then press into the crushed pretzels using your dry hand to sprinkle more on top. Gently press the pretzels onto each tender.
  • Place the pretzel-coated tenders on the parchment-lined plate and evenly spray both sides with olive oil cooking spray before adding them to the preheated air fryer in a single layer.
  • Air fry the tenders for 5 to 6 minutes, ensuring they are golden brown and cooked through. Use tongs to flip the tenders halfway through the cooking process. Once finished, check the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer, it should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Serve hot and enjoy promptly.
