Whip up delicious and vibrant autumn waffles using Original Bisquick mix for a classic breakfast treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 5 bratwurst sausages (from 19-oz package)
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin beer
  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) pumpkin beer (1 1/2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
  • 1 egg
Instructions:
  • In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, warm up 1 tablespoon of oil. Cook the sausage for about 10 minutes, turning once, until it's golden brown and cooked through. Slice the sausage into rounds and set aside.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat, gently simmer 1/4 cup beer. Stir in 1/2 cup maple syrup and butter, cooking until the butter melts. Keep the mixture warm.
  • Preheat the waffle maker and coat it with cooking spray, vegetable oil, or shortening. In a large bowl, whisk or use an egg beater to blend all waffle ingredients together. Pour the batter into the center of the hot, greased waffle maker and close the lid.
  • Bake the waffle for about 5 minutes or until steaming stops and it turns golden brown. Carefully remove the waffle and continue with the rest of the batter.
  • Place 3 waffle-halves on each plate, then layer with sausage and drizzle with syrup before serving.
