Fall-inspired Pumpkin Patch Brownies with Homemade Buttercream are a party-pleaser featuring moist chocolatey base topped with velvety sweet buttercream, perfect for all ages. A festive must-have for any gathering.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • Pinch of coarse kosher salt
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Green gel food color from 1 box Betty Crocker™ Classic Gel Food Color, as desired
  • 3 chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed
  • 1 graham cracker, finely crushed
  • Fall sprinkles, as desired
  • 16 candy pumpkins
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine brownie mix, water, vegetable oil, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Stir in chocolate syrup, vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt until mixed. Gently fold in dark chocolate chips with a spatula.
  • Prepare a 9x9 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, securing it with clips if needed. Pour the batter into the pan and smoothly spread it using an offset spatula.
  • Bake for 25 minutes then allow to cool thoroughly before adding frosting (approximately 90 minutes).
  • Using an electric mixer with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and a pinch of coarse kosher salt until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar on low speed. Pour in milk and vanilla. Mix until fully incorporated. Incorporate the desired amount of green gel food color and mix until fluffy. Reserve a small portion of frosting for creating pumpkin vines, if preferred. Spread the rest of the frosting onto the brownies using an offset spatula.
  • Create three to four pumpkin patch rows by layering finely crushed chocolate cookies and graham crackers. Sprinkle each row with colorful sprinkles, top with candy pumpkins, and optionally add pumpkin vines for a festive touch.
