Homemade crackers ready in under an hour, perfect for any spread or dip. Options include seeded, rosemary, or Parmesan-oregano.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ self-rising flour
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seed
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, for brushing
  • Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling
  • 1/4 cup finely grated fresh Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a cookie sheet by lining it with cooking parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Cube the butter, coat with flour in a medium bowl, and use your fingers to blend until pea-sized and well combined.
  • Choose your desired flavor for the crackers: seeded, rosemary, or Parmesan-oregano. For seeded crackers, mix in poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and pepper. For rosemary crackers, incorporate fresh rosemary. For Parmesan-oregano crackers, blend in Parmesan cheese and oregano.
  • Gradually incorporate 3 tablespoons of buttermilk into the mixture, stirring gently. Continue adding more buttermilk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough reaches the desired consistency.
  • Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/16 inch thickness. Cut into 5-inch by 1-inch crackers. Transfer to baking sheet. For rosemary crackers, brush with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the crackers are golden brown. Let cool on a rack before serving.
