Delicious cabbage and apple side dish, ready in just one hour.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 medium unpeeled tart cooking apples, sliced
  • 1 medium head red cabbage, coarsely shredded (8 cups)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • In a Dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Cook apples in the butter for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 35 to 40 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
