Transform a classic East Coast treat with a Southern flair using Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ devil's food cake mix and frosting, plus a pop of red food coloring for that signature "velvet" look.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 bottle (1 oz) red food color
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  • Combine cake mix, butter, eggs, and food color in a large bowl. Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed until well combined and thick batter forms. Use a 1-inch cookie scoop to place dough 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until fully set. Transfer from cookie sheets to cooling racks and let cool completely for about 15 minutes.
  • Spread a generous amount of creamy and tangy cream cheese frosting on the bottom side of one cookie and then sandwich it with another cookie, gently pressing them together to create a delightful whoopie pie.
