Traditional Turkish delight with customizable flavors, featuring fragrant rose water.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 (.25 ounce) envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 2 teaspoons rose water
  • 1 dash red food coloring, or desired amount
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 9-inch cake pan by lining it with aluminum foil, leaving an overhang on the sides, then generously spray with non-stick cooking spray and set it aside.
  • Combine sugar, water, and gelatin in a large pot. Bring to a boil then simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 20 minutes.
  • Mix the fragrant rose water and vibrant food coloring into the pot; then pour the mixture into the cake pan.
  • Place a sheet of plastic wrap over the pan and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight.
  • Sprinkle the cutting board with a touch of confectioners' sugar. Flip the cake pan onto the board and delicately remove the aluminum foil from the gelatin. Slice the gelatin into squares.
  • Pour a luxurious layer of confectioners' sugar into a wide, shallow dish. Gently roll the delectable gelatin squares in the sugar until perfectly coated.
