Savory European pastries filled with beef, cabbage, and cheese, known as bierocks.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (3 pound) package frozen white bread dough
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Allow the frozen bread dough to thaw. Then, divide each roll into 3 pieces and keep them ready. In a large skillet, cook the beef and cabbage until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper to your liking.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Roll out the bread dough and cut it into squares. Add a spoonful of the beef/cabbage mixture to the center of each square. Sprinkle cheese on top, fold over, and pinch the sides to seal. Lightly brush each pastry with oil on the outside.
  • Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish and bake in the oven until golden brown, about 45 to 60 minutes.
