Creamy dill sauce with tangy horseradish complements a moist, flaky salmon fillet baked to perfection in foil - the star of your dinner table.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (2 pound) salmon fillet
  • 1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 small onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 6 slices lemon
  • 0.25 cup butter, cut into small chunks
  • 0.33333334326744 cup sour cream
  • 0.33333334326744 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon caper brine
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 0.75 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then line a baking sheet with lightly greased aluminum foil.
  • Lay the salmon fillet skin side down on a piece of foil. Season with lemon-pepper and onion salt, then layer onion rings and lemon slices on top. Place small pieces of butter over the salmon. Wrap the foil securely around the salmon to seal it.
  • Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and switch on the broiler. Broil the salmon until fork-tender, for 8 to 12 minutes.
  • Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, white wine, capers, chopped onion, caper brine, lemon juice, horseradish, dill weed, garlic salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Serve alongside the baked salmon.
