Indulgent salted chocolate cookies for chocoholics – big, soft, and fudgy with a dash of sea salt for a perfect finish.
Ingredients:
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 cup butter, cut into chunks
  • 0.75 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.66666668653488 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while preparing two large baking sheets lined with parchment paper and sprayed with nonstick spray.
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt.
  • Gently melt butter in a saucepan over low heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in chocolate chips until fully melted. Take off the heat.
  • In a bowl, use an electric mixer to whip up a creamy mixture of brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Gradually add a bit of the chocolate mixture and stir well. Slowly mix in the rest of the chocolate, stirring constantly to prevent curdling. Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Using an ice cream scoop, portion out six large dollops of batter onto each baking sheet, ensuring they are placed 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until cookies have spread to a diameter of 4 1/2 inches or larger, and the tops are crinkled and puffed.
  • Take the baking sheets out of the oven and place them on a wire rack. Sprinkle the cookies with sea salt right away. Allow them to cool for 18 to 20 minutes, then use a spatula to transfer the cookies to a serving platter.
