Flavorful breakfast casserole with sausage, cream cheese, onions, and bell peppers.
Ingredients:
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 0.5 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions
  • 0.5 cup cream cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 0.75 cup low-fat milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Layer the bottom of the pan with crescent roll dough, sealing the seams by gently pressing them together.
  • 1. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. 2. Sauté sausage, bell pepper, and onions until sausage is browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. 3. Drain excess oil from the pan. 4. Add cream cheese and black pepper, cook until melted, around 2-3 minutes. 5. Take off the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  • Spread the sausage-cream cheese mixture evenly on the dough, then sprinkle Cheddar cheese on top. Pour the beaten eggs and milk over the cheese.
  • Bake casserole in the preheated oven for around 30 minutes, until the bottom is golden brown, the cheese is gooey, and the center eggs are fully cooked.
