Spicy sausage and cream cheese wrapped in crescent rolls with pepperoni and cheddar for a delicious twist. Enjoy a flavorful and easy to make appetizer or snack.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh, ground spicy pork sausage
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Lightly brown the sausage in a medium skillet and drain any excess grease. While the sausage is still hot, add cream cheese and stir until melted and the mixture becomes creamy. Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  • Take the crescent rolls and lay them out into two rectangles. Divide the sausage mixture in half and shape into logs down the center of each rectangle. Fold over the sides of the pastry to encase the sausage. Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet, seam side down. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with poppy seeds before baking.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until the crust turns golden. Let it cool completely, then slice into 1.5-inch slices.
