Savory Jimmy Dean® sausage spanakopita triangles with spinach, cheese, and phyllo dough. Mediterranean flair in every bite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package Jimmy Dean® Premium Pork Regular Sausage
  • 1 (10 ounce) box frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 5 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 16 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Heat up the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spatula until cooked through, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Lower the heat to medium, then toss in the spinach, green onions, and red pepper flakes. Cook until the spinach is thawed, for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Take the pot off the heat and gently combine the ricotta cheese and feta cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove the phyllo dough from its packaging and cover it with a towel to maintain its moisture.
  • Brush half of a sheet with decadent melted butter, then elegantly fold it in half lengthwise. Add a generous 1/4 to 1/2 cup of flavorful filling to the top-left corner. Fold the bottom-left corner over to create a luscious triangle. Skillfully fold edge over edge until a perfect triangle is formed, then place it lovingly on the baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients for an exquisite batch of treats.
  • Coat each triangle generously with melted butter.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, about 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
