Savory mushrooms stuffed with spicy Italian sausage and gooey cheeses, a delicious crowd-pleaser appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 40 mushrooms, stems removed
  • 0.5 pound Italian sausage
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 0.5 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.33333334326744 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and generously grease a baking sheet.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Sauté mushrooms in the butter until they are soft and golden, for about 5 minutes. Remove mushrooms from the skillet and let them cool on a plate.
  • In a hot skillet, sauté sausage, onion, and garlic until meat is perfectly browned and crumbly, for about 10 minutes. Remove any extra grease. Transfer to a big bowl, then mix in bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, and parsley.
  • Place mushrooms gill-side up on the baking sheet and generously stuff them with the sausage mixture.
  • Bake in a hot oven until the cheese is gooey and bubbly, which should take around 30 minutes.
