Sausage-stuffed mushrooms using Original Bisquick® mix. Quick and delicious appetizer ready in 35 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 36 large fresh mushrooms (about 2 lb)
  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage
  • 1/4 cup freeze-dried chopped chives
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/4 cup Italian-style dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Remove and finely chop the stems from the mushrooms.
  • Cook and sauté sausage, chopped mushroom stems, chives, onion, and garlic in a 10-inch skillet until the sausage is fully cooked; then drain, keeping the drippings. Combine Bisquick mix and bread crumbs with the sausage mixture until it becomes a cohesive mixture. If it appears dry, incorporate 1 to 2 tablespoons of the reserved drippings.
  • Fill each mushroom cap generously with the savory sausage mixture. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in a 15x10x1-inch pan without greasing it, then generously sprinkle them with cheese.
  • Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until piping hot. Serve fresh out of the oven.
