Sauteed shrimp in a zesty lemon, garlic, and white wine sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 3 scallions, white bulbs and green tops cut separately into thin slices
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 24 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2.5 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons white wine
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, or more to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet or wok over medium heat, combine 1/4 cup of oil, scallion whites, garlic, and oregano. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until fragrant. Increase heat to high, add shrimp, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until opaque, stirring and turning occasionally.
  • Pour in the refreshing lemon juice and flavorful wine into the skillet, allowing it to simmer for approximately 1 1/2 minutes. Next, sprinkle in some water, pepper, and salt, and cook for just 30 seconds. Blend in the rich butter, a tablespoon of olive oil, scallion greens, and parsley until evenly mixed. Finally, elegantly place the shrimp on warmed plates and generously ladle the delicious sauce over them.
