"Quick and fancy pan-seared tuna steaks marinated in ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and molasses."
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Asian (toasted) sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
  • 6 thin slices fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 1-inch-thick tuna steaks, thawed
Instructions:
  • Combine the soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, sesame oil, molasses, cayenne pepper, ginger, and garlic in a bowl and mix well.
  • In a large resealable plastic bag or airtight container, add the tuna steaks and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag or container and coat the steaks with the marinade. Allow the steaks to marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat a nonstick pan over medium heat.
  • Take the steaks out of the marinade and dispose of any excess. Place the steaks in the hot pan, gently shake to prevent sticking, and cook for 1 1/2 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 1 minute.
