Scotcharoos: Peanut butter Rice Krispies bars with decadent chocolate butterscotch topping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, or as needed
  • 1.5 cups peanut butter
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 6 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 0.5 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup butterscotch chips
Instructions:
  • Butter a 9x13-inch baking pan generously, and set it aside.
  • Combine peanut butter, corn syrup, and sugar in a large pot. Cook and stir over medium heat until the peanut butter melts, then bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
  • Blend the rice cereal thoroughly into the mixture. Spread the combined mixture into the pan and press it down using your hands buttered lightly.
  • Combine chocolate chips and butterscotch chips in a saucepan over medium-low heat until melted and smooth. Spread the mixture over the bars.
  • Allow to cool completely for approximately 20 minutes before slicing into 24 delicious squares.
