Delicious Salisbury steak with savory beef-mushroom gravy, evoking nostalgic family dinners. A beloved comfort food for my husband, perfect with mashed potatoes or buttered noodles.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons crushed buttery round cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms with juice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 cubes beef bouillon
Instructions:
  • Combine ground beef, egg, cracker crumbs, onion, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning in a bowl. Use your hands to mix well and form 6 patties, each about 1 inch thick.
  • Cook the patties in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until they are browned. Remove excess grease, transfer the patties to a platter, and keep them warm.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the mushrooms for about 2 minutes. Sprinkle in the flour and stir until combined. Pour in the milk and beef bouillon, stirring until smooth and thickened. Add the patties back to the gravy and simmer uncovered on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
