Quick and flavorful sesame-seared tuna with a crispy crust and tangy honey soy sauce, ready in under 15 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (Japanese sweet wine)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 0.5 cup sesame seeds
  • 4 (6 ounce) tuna steaks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • wasabi paste
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, and honey in a small bowl. Divide the mixture in half, setting one portion aside. Stir rice wine vinegar into the other half and reserve it as a delightful dipping sauce.
  • Spread a layer of sesame seeds on a plate. Dip tuna steaks in the remaining soy sauce mixture, then press them into the sesame seeds for a delicious coating.
  • Preheat a cast iron skillet with olive oil over high heat until smoking. Sear steaks for 30 seconds on each side. Enjoy with dipping sauce and wasabi paste.
