Classic Seven-Up pound cake: Rich, buttery cake elevated with zesty lemon-lime soda for extra lift.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 7 fluid ounces lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and prepare a 10-inch Bundt pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla and lemon extract. Alternately beat in flour and lemon-lime soda until just combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool on a cake rack for 30 minutes before removing from the pan.
