Succulent shrimp in rich tomato sauce, atop a bed of spaghetti. A simple and delicious dinner ready in no time.
Ingredients:
  • 12 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced fire-roasted tomatoes
  • 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions:
  • Collect all your fresh and flavorful ingredients.
  • Cook spaghetti as instructed on the package; drain and set aside.
  • Begin by heating oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Next, add shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, flipping once, until they are almost opaque.
  • Place shrimp onto a plate. Introduce garlic and crushed red pepper to the skillet. Sauté and stir until aromatic, approximately 1 minute.
  • Combine undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, fresh basil, rich balsamic vinegar, oregano, and a pinch of salt in a pot. Bring to a vigorous boil. Lower the heat and gently simmer without a lid until the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
  • Add the shrimp back to the skillet and let it gently simmer for about 1 minute until heated through. Serve the shrimp over spaghetti and garnish with extra fresh basil.
