Indulge in sweet and savory stir-fried shrimp and pork bathed in a delectable homemade lobster sauce with a hint of soy, sugar, and egg. No need for actual lobster!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons cooking sherry
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.25 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.25 cup cold water
  • 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 large egg, beaten
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 teaspoons of cornstarch and sherry until dissolved. Add shrimp and mix well to coat evenly.
  • In a hot wok, quickly cook shrimp in oil until pink, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove shrimp with a slotted spoon, keeping most of the flavorful oil in the wok.
  • Sauté garlic in the wok briefly, then add ground pork. Cook until pork is no longer pink, for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Combine 1 cup water, soy sauce, sugar, and salt in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the wok and stir well. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat to medium, and simmer for approximately 2 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup cold water and 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch. Pour into the wok. Add shrimp and simmer. Gradually drizzle beaten egg into the wok while stirring rapidly. Serve promptly.
