Easy and delightful British flapjacks - sticky oat bars with raisins, golden syrup, and a chocolate drizzle. Perfect for kids to make!
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 5 tablespoons raisins
  • 1 (5 ounce) milk chocolate, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and gently butter a baking pan.
  • In a saucepan over gentle heat, meld together butter, sugar, and golden syrup. Stir until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Take off the heat. Stir in 2 cups of oats and raisins until oats are fully coated. Transfer the mixture to the pan and press down with the back of a spoon.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the top turns golden brown, for about 10 to 20 minutes. Allow the flapjack to cool.
  • Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, for 1 to 3 minutes. Drizzle over the cooled flapjack and allow it to set.
