Make quick and flavorful garlic beef and broccolini stir fry for a delicious weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
  • 500g-piece topside beef, thinly sliced across the grain
  • 21.00 gm soy sauce
  • 7.50 gm cornflour
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 36.40 gm peanut oil
  • 1 brown onion, halved, cut into thin wedges
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 82.50 ml coarsely chopped fresh garlic chives
  • 1 bunch broccolini, cut into 4cm lengths
  • 160ml (2/3 cup) vegetable liquid stock
  • 40.00 ml kecap manis
  • Steamed white rice, to serve
Instructions:
  • Mix together the beef, soy sauce, cornflour, sesame oil, and pepper in a large bowl.
  • In a smoking hot wok, brown half of the beef in 3 teaspoons of peanut oil for 1-2 minutes. Transfer to a heatproof bowl. Repeat with the remaining oil and beef, ensuring the wok is reheated between batches.
  • Heat the remaining oil in the wok until it just begins to smoke. Stir in the onion and cook for 2 minutes until soft. Introduce the garlic and half of the chives, cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Finally, add the broccolini and stock, stir-fry for 3 minutes until the broccolini is bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Add the beef back to the wok along with the kecap manis and the rest of the chives. Stir-fry for 1 minute or until the mixture boils and thickens. Serve with steamed rice.
