Skip the deep fryer - make juicy, crispy Skillet-Fried Chicken in 45 minutes with just a skillet. Pair with tasty sides for a crowd-pleasing meal that will have everyone asking for seconds!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3- to 3 1/2-lb cut-up whole chicken
  • Vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish, then coat the chicken with the mixture.
  • Heat 1/4 inch of oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken skin sides down until light brown, approximately 10 minutes. Then, flip the chicken skin sides up and reduce the heat to low.
  • Cook the chicken uncovered for about 20 minutes, without flipping, until the juices run clear when the thickest pieces are cut to the bone (reach at least 165°F internal temperature).
