Quick, budget-friendly sloppy joes can be served over rice, biscuits, or baked potatoes for a versatile twist.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 2 hamburger buns, split
Instructions:
  • 1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion, stirring occasionally until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Discard any excess grease. Add ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt, stirring well.
  • In a saucepan, bring the beef mixture to high heat until boiling. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve on buns.
