Make easy no-knead bread in your slow cooker with just one rise; the slow cooker does the rest for a quick and delicious loaf.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2.5 cups bread flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon lukewarm water, or more as needed
  • parchment paper
  • 0.25 cup sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Combine 1 cup of water with yeast in a small bowl and stir until yeast is fully dissolved. Allow the mixture to rest until it becomes frothy or foamy, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Combine flour and salt in a sealed plastic container. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon until well blended. Mix in 1 to 2 tablespoons of water until the dough is slightly sticky but not overly wet.
  • Cover the container with the lid and allow the dough to rise at room temperature for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the slow cooker to High and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle flour over a clean work surface. Using floured hands, gently fold the dough to eliminate any air pockets. Form into a round or oval shape to match your slow cooker.
  • Spread a layer of sesame seeds on the bottom of the slow cooker. Generously coat the entire surface of the loaf with the remaining sesame seeds. Then, carefully place the dough in the slow cooker and cover it with the lid.
  • Cook on High for 2 hours, occasionally lifting the lid to release steam. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature, which should be between 200 and 210 degrees F (93 to 99 degrees C). The surface of the bread should be dry and not spongy. When done, the loaf should sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  • Take the loaf out of the slow cooker and place it on a wire rack to cool completely for at least 1 hour before slicing.
