Moist slow cooker chicken infused with sweet apple flavor, cooked with a juicy apple in the cavity and surrounded by simmering apple juice.
Ingredients:
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (3 1/2) pound fryer chicken
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • aluminum foil
Instructions:
  • Season the inside of the chicken liberally with salt and pepper. Stuff the whole apple inside the chicken cavity and carefully place the chicken in a slow cooker, breast-side down. Surround the chicken with apple juice.
  • Cook the chicken on Low for 4 to 6 hours until it is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Remove from the slow cooker, cover with aluminum foil, and let it rest for 10 minutes in a warm area before slicing.
