Slow cooker sauerkraut and sausage: a harmonious blend of sweet, salty, and sour flavors in each bite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (20 ounce) can sauerkraut
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 pounds bratwurst sausages
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 0.5 cup water, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Combine sauerkraut and brown sugar in a medium bowl.
  • Transfer the sauerkraut mixture into a slow cooker and layer with sausages and onion on top. Cook on High for 2 hours, checking periodically and adding water if needed to prevent dryness.
  • Lower the heat and simmer gently for an additional 2 hours.
