Slow cooker meatballs in easy sauce, serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
Ingredients:
  • 500g pork and veal mince
  • 1 small brown onion, very finely chopped
  • 35g (1/2 cup) fresh breadcrumbs, made from day-old bread
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 0.63 gm ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 375ml (1 1/2 cups) Beef Style Liquid Stock
  • 18.30 gm Worcestershire sauce
  • 15.00 gm cornflour
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) thickened cream
Instructions:
  • Combine mince, onion, breadcrumbs, allspice, nutmeg, and egg in a large bowl. Season generously. Use your hands to mix everything until well combined, then roll the mixture into small balls using leveled tablespoons.
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat the oil until shimmering. Cook half of the meatballs for about 3 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are beautifully golden brown. Transfer them to a plate and repeat this process with the remaining meatballs.
  • Combine the stock and Worcestershire sauce in a slow cooker, ensuring they are well mixed. Gently place the meatballs in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours until perfectly tender.
  • In a small bowl, combine cornflour and 1 1/2 tablespoons of water. Pour the mixture into the slow cooker and add cream. Gently stir until well combined. Cover and cook on Low for an additional 30 minutes, or until the mixture thickens. Serve and enjoy!
