Decadent slow-cooked venison stroganoff.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound venison stew meat
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 (16 ounce) package uncooked egg noodles
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm olive oil. Season cubed venison with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Sear venison in the hot oil until golden brown on all sides, approximately 8 minutes. Place the cooked venison into a slow cooker, keeping the flavorful oil in the skillet.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low. Incorporate flour into the remaining oil in the skillet. Cook and stir until the flour becomes golden brown, approximately 5 minutes. Add water and bring it to a simmer before transferring it into the slow cooker. Stir in condensed soup to combine.
  • Slow cook venison until tender for 4 hours on Low heat.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then cook egg noodles until al dente, for about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well.
  • Serve the stroganoff over egg noodles.
