Slow-cooked honey-glazed ham, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup molasses
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 10 (10 pound) shank ham
Instructions:
  • Combine brown sugar, honey, molasses, orange juice, and mustard in a saucepan. Simmer over medium-low heat until thickened, about 45 minutes. Remove from heat and let the glaze sit for 8 hours to overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Preheat your oven to a gentle 225 degrees F (110 degrees C), then elegantly arrange the ham in a roasting pan.
  • Roast in the oven for 10 hours, checking occasionally. If the ham darkens, cover with aluminum foil and bake for an additional 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C). Bake the ham, basting with the glaze every 30 minutes, for an additional 2 hours. Allow the ham to rest for 15 to 20 minutes after removing from the oven before slicing. Serve any extra glaze on the side for a delicious finishing touch.
