Effortlessly slow-cook delicious baked beans without the heat of the oven, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cans (28 ounces each) vegetarian baked beans, drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 2/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground mustard
Instructions:
  • Combine all the ingredients in a 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Cook, covered, on low heat for 4-5 hours or on high heat for 2-2.5 hours until desired consistency. Note: This recipe is ideal for slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom, not for those with just a heated base. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for such cookers.
