"Portable and delicious tangy beans, perfect for taking on the go in the same pot for serving hot."
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lb bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mild-flavor (light) molasses
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 2 cans (15.5 oz each) great northern beans, drained, rinsed
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) black beans, drained, 1/2 cup liquid reserved
Instructions:
  • Cook crisp bacon and tender onion in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally; then drain excess grease.
  • Combine bacon, onion, and remaining ingredients, along with reserved liquid, in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low heat setting for 3 to 4 hours.
