Slow-Cooker Brisket with Chunky Mustard BBQ Sauce

Tender slow-cooked beef brisket in zesty sauce with green peppers and celery.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (1 cup)
  • 1 medium stalk celery, thinly sliced (1/2 cup)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 3-pound fresh beef brisket (not corned beef)
Instructions:
  • Prepare the slow cooker by spraying it with cooking spray. Combine all ingredients except beef in the slow cooker. Place the beef inside (you can cut it in half if needed to fit). Spoon the sauce over and around the beef.
  • Cook the dish on Low heat for 10 to 12 hours. Serve the flavorful sauce with the tender beef.
