Slow cooked pears in a decadent caramel-maple sauce. Delightful!
Ingredients:
  • 6 yellow- or red-skinned pears, cored from bottom leaving stems attached
  • 1 cup caramel ice cream topping
  • 1/3 cup real maple syrup
  • Grated lemon peel
Instructions:
  • Prepare the slow cooker by lightly spraying it with cooking spray. Stand the pears upright inside the cooker. If all pears don't fit at the bottom, position the remaining ones between two others in the cooker.
  • Combine the ice cream topping and syrup in a small bowl, then drizzle over the pears.
  • Cover and cook on High heat for 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
  • Take out the pears from the cooker. Arrange them upright on a serving plate or in individual dessert dishes. Drizzle approximately 1/4 cup of topping mixture over each pear and then garnish with lemon peel.
