Prep Time:
10 minutes
Total Time:
Succulent ribs marinated in flavorful herbs and spices, slow cooked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 3 lb pork loin back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
Instructions:
  • Coat the interior of a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • If desired, remove the inner skin from the ribs. Combine dried minced onion, mustard, red pepper, allspice, cinnamon, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Massage the mixture onto the ribs. Cut the ribs into 4-inch pieces. Layer the ribs and sliced onion in the slow cooker and pour water over them.
  • Cover and simmer on Low heat for 8 to 9 hours.
  • Take the ribs out of the cooker, drain the liquid, and discard. Transfer the barbecue sauce to a shallow bowl. Dip the ribs into the sauce, then put them back in the cooker. Pour any remaining sauce over the ribs.
  • Cover and simmer on Low heat for an additional hour.
