Indulgent chai-spiced chocolate dessert with fluffy whipped cream topping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cinnamon stick or quill
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2.50 gm ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 2l milk
  • 400g dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • Whipped cream, to serve
  • Ground cinnamon, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a small frying pan over high heat, toast the cinnamon stick, star anise, cloves, ginger, cardamom, fennel, and allspice for 30 seconds until fragrant. Then transfer the spices to a slow cooker, season with pepper, add milk and chocolate. Cook on low for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is smooth and warmed through.
  • Spoon the mixture into individual serving glasses. Garnish each with a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of chocolate, and a dash of cinnamon.
