Create a gourmet apple-berry oatmeal by slow-cooking oats with yogurt and nuts for a decadent breakfast experience.
Ingredients:
  • 150g (1 cup) steel cut oats
  • 875ml (3 1/2 cups) water
  • 1 large red apple, peeled and coarsely grated
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Yoghurt, to serve
  • Sliced apple, to serve
  • Fresh raspberries, to serve
  • Toasted nuts and seeds, to serve
  • Maple syrup, to serve
Instructions:
  • Grease your 3L slow-cooker gently with oil. Combine oats, water, apple, and vanilla in the slow-cooker. Stir well, then introduce the cinnamon stick.
  • Turn the slow-cooker to the low setting and let it cook for 8 hours. Take out the cinnamon stick and discard it, then give the mixture a good stir. Let it sit uncovered for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Top with a generous spoonful of yogurt, scatter with apple slices, nuts, and seeds, then finish with a decadent drizzle of maple syrup.
