Delightful poached quince enhances crumble or pairs perfectly with muesli and yogurt for a breakfast treat.
Ingredients:
  • 215.00 gm caster sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split
  • 1 whole cloves
  • 3 (180g each) quince
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1 litre of cold water over low heat until sugar dissolves, around 5 minutes. Increase heat to medium and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and pour the sugar syrup into a 5.5-litre slow cooker. Stir in vanilla bean, cinnamon, and clove.
  • Peel, quarter, and core the quince, then place them into the sugar syrup. Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours until the quince is tender and deep red. Serve the quince drizzled with syrup and topped with double cream.
